A second person was bitten by a coyote this week in Bergen County.
Saddle River police say the attack happened near Oak Road on Tuesday. They say that the victim was working in their yard when the animal attacked and bit them several times.
When animal control arrived, officials say they found the coyote to be visibly sick and with no fear of humans.
The coyote was euthanized and taken for testing.
Another person was attacked by a coyote in nearby Woodcliff Lake on Monday.
Both victims are recovering from their injuries.
It was not immediately clear if it was the same coyote responsible for both attacks.
“There have been many sightings of coyotes and black bears in our area recently. Most of the time, they're just looking for food," officials wrote in a statement on Monday. "PLEASE DO NOT FEED the bears or coyotes. This makes these animals lose their natural fear of humans when they associate humans with meals."
