Another phase of New Jerseys Fish & Game approved Bear Hunt began Monday.
Segment B of the bear hunt could continue until Saturday, depending on how many bears are killed. Shotguns are permitted during this part of the hunt.
Following the hunts in October, the harvest rate is at about 13.6%. Fish and Wildlife recommend continuing the hunt if the rate is below 20%.
During the first phase of the hunt back in October, 331 bears were killed in Segment A. In 2022, 114 bears were harvested.
