The first part of the New Jersey black bear hunt will wrap up Saturday.
State officials say that 252 bears have been culled so far this week. Most of the bears killed were in Sussex, Warren and Morris counties.
The state approved the bear hunt early through at least 2028. The second segment of the hunt will happen in December.
