Two Roselle Park men have been charged in connection with a burglary at Roselle Park High School, police say.
Cesar Orozco, 19, and Jonathan Guitirez, 18, both of Roselle Park, were charged with burglary, criminal mischief and theft of movable property, according to the Roselle Park Police Department.
Police said they were notified around 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, that the high school, located at 185 W. Webster Ave., had been burglarized overnight.
Investigators determined that two men wearing dark clothing and face coverings had entered the school. Various school items were stolen, and damage to school property was reported, police said.
Officers searched the school and determined there was no ongoing threat to students or staff, allowing the school day to begin as the investigation continued.
One suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon, and the second was arrested at his residence around 9 a.m. Friday. Police said they were both in possession of items believed to have been stolen during the burglary.
The two men were released on summonses pending future court appearances.
