Four elementary school students from Roselle Park are being recognized for an invention that could help save lives.

The girls from Robert Gordon Elementary School took first place in the statewide STEAM Tank Challenge with their invention, “Fire Safe Teddy,” designed to help keep children safe during fires.

Their achievement earned them a special hometown heroes’ welcome, complete with a celebration from local police officers and firefighters.
