A 7-year-old boy was hospitalized after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a Throggs Neck residence Friday evening, according to police.

The incident occurred around 5:44 p.m. at 658 Clarence Ave.

Police said officers responding to the location learned that a 7-year-old boy had been discovered inside a pool on the property.

FDNY and EMS responded to the scene and transported the child to Jacobi Medical Center.

Authorities say the child is expected to survive.

It was not immediately clear how the boy ended up unconscious in the pool.
