Bergen County officials announced a ticket lottery for local first responders that will award 25 pairs of tickets to FIFA World Cup matches scheduled to be played in New Jersey.
The lottery is open exclusively to active police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel who live in Bergen County and are employed by, assigned to or volunteer with a Bergen County municipal or public safety agency.
Winners will receive tickets to one of three matches: The Group Stage match between Panama and England on June 27, a Round of 32 match on June 30, or a Round of 16 match on July 5.

County Executive Jim Tedesco said the tickets recognize the role first responders will play during the tournament, which includes eight matches in Bergen County, including the World Cup final.
“These tickets are a meaningful way to recognize the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice of the men and women who serve our communities every day and who are helping keep residents and visitors safe throughout the tournament,” Tedesco said in a statement.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill said the lottery is intended to thank first responders for their service and give them an opportunity to experience the tournament.
The tickets are being distributed through a partnership involving the governor’s office, the FIFA World Cup 2026 New York New Jersey Host Committee, Choose New Jersey and corporate and community partners.
Applications are available online at BergenWorldCupTickets.com. Eligible applicants must submit entries by 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 24. A random drawing will be held June 25, and winners will be notified directly.
