There are new details on the plans to fix a sewer main break in Hartsdale.
It happened on East Hartsdale Avenue in May 2024. Since then, town officials have been working on fixing it.
However, town supervisor Paul Feiner says it's a complicated project.
"You have a pipe 35 feet under a 60-year-old building, so we have to be very, very careful that we do this correctly," says Feiner.
He says they're finally getting close.
"There's definitely been progress. The design plans have been forwarded to the county department of health. The county department of health has to review and make recommendations, so there will be a little tweaking, then it goes to bid," Feiner explains.
Some people who live nearby say it's an eyesore. Others tell News 12 they're relieved the project is moving along.
"It's kind of annoying for us residents," says Jonathan Rodriguez.
"I can't wait for it to be over, that's all I will say," says Harvey Cohen, who also lives in the area.
Work is expected to happen this summer and take about seven months.
