Police: Waterbury police arrest man for murder of 80-year-old woman

A 48-year-old Waterbury man was arrested for his connection to the death of an 80-year-old Waterbury woman.

Waterbury patrol officers responded to a medical assist call just before 12:45 p.m. on April 9 at an apartment on 25 Abbott Terrace.

Officers located 48-year-old Noel Sepulveda, from Waterbury, who they said appeared under the influence of narcotics.

Officers then located 80-year-old Anacelia Sepulveda, from Waterbury, unresponsive and suffering from multiple stab wounds.

She was later pronounced dead.

Noel was taken in for questioning after receiving medical attention at a hospital.

The man was then taken into custody for his connection to the incident and arrested on charges of murder, possession of narcotics and use of drug paraphernalia.

Officials urge anyone with additional information to reach out to Waterbury police.
