All lanes on Interstate 80 in Wharton have reopened following months of sinkhole repairs.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation says all lanes reopened at 8:15 a.m. Saturday - four days ahead of schedule.
Eastbound lanes were closed Friday night for the final repaving and painting. Westbound lanes reopened last week.

The repairs come after multiple sinkholes developed on the highway starting in December. Officials say that these sinkholes were caused by abandoned mines located under the highway.
The closures caused traffic issues in the area for months and impacted local businesses.
