A family is suing a Cliffside Park funeral home after they claim one of their loved one’s ashes were left in a running car and then stolen.

The suit claims the remains of Walter Garcia were supposed to be returned to the family three days after his service at Macagna-Diffily Funeral Home last January.

The family says they contacted the funeral home several days later and were told the ashes were left in a car that was stolen.

The family claims the funeral home neglected their contract and failed to protect the ashes.
