A truck driver died when the Mack dump truck he was driving overturned Thursday morning.
State police say that the crash happened around 7:45 a.m. on Interstate 287 South in Oakland.
The driver was identified as 56-year-old Ronald Appel, of Riverdale.
Police say Appel struck a guardrail and the truck overturned. He died in the crash.
Parts of I-287 were closed for a time, backing up traffic. The roadway has since reopened.
