The nor’easter brought snow across parts
of Monmouth County, but it was the winds and storm surge which caused problems
along the beaches, leading to coastal flooding.
But as quickly as the water
came in, it's just as quick heading out. It will be the last high tide the areas will
see flooding.
“I think the big thing was
that the storm surge was a little bit lower than anticipated and it also hit at
dead low tide, which really makes a big difference,” says Mayor
Ed Donovan.
Winds also helped push the
surge back to the ocean against the incoming tide.
