Two women accused of engaging in prostitution with a child nearby at a Fairfield hotel were arrested on Friday, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Fairfield police say they received a report about the incident inside the Ramada at 38 Bridges Road on Wednesday.

The report indicated that the minor was in the room or around the two suspects as the illicit activity took place.

A review of the hotel security footage revealed that numerous men entered the women’s hotel room, each staying between 10 and 20 minutes before leaving.

Investigators determined that the activity coincided with an online advertisement offering sexual activity from the two women.

Officers later saw the women and the child walking to their vehicle two days later. They arrested the women and placed the child into protective custody.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Natalia Martinez Gutierrez, of Florida, and 27-year-old Wendy Capachononva, of New Jersey, are charged with prostitution and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Both were taken to the Essex County Correctional Facility pending an appearance in Superior Court.
