Two people were shot in the Melrose section of The Bronx on Sunday night, police say.
The NYPD says it happened just before 8:30 p.m. outside an apartment building at 356 E. 152nd St.
They found two people - a 42-year-old woman and 41-year-old man -who were both shot in the stomach and were rushed to the hospital. They are both expected to be OK.
It's currently unclear if the pair were the intended targets, but investigators say it does not appear to be gang affiliated.
A woman who identified herself as a neighbor of the victims says she interacted with them about five minutes before the shooting took place.
"I was coming in with my mother, the people were standing outside, they helped us out to open the door, to help get my mother inside, then they went back outside about five minutes later the shooting started...I heard five shots," the neighbor told News 12.
Police are still searching for three men responsible for the shooting. They were all wearing black surgical masks before running away.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
