Federal marshals arrested two more suspects in the recent Newark schoolyard shooting of three college students Saturday.
The two were wanted in connection to the murders of Terrance Aeriel, 18, Dashon Harvey, 20, and Iofemi Hightower, 20, in early August.
Marshal Bill Sorukus said the two suspects, 24-year-old Nicaraguan immigrant Rodolfo Godinez and a 16-year-old male, were found in the Washington, D.C., area. The teen?s name has not been released.
Godinez is described as a ?principal player? in the murders. Officials believe the teen arrested Saturday is Godinez?s half-brother.
Essex County prosecutors said they expect both men to be extradited to New Jersey in the next few weeks. Both face charges including murder, attempted murder, robbery and weapons charges.
Newark Mayor Cory Booker credited the arrests to the cooperation of federal and state law enforcement.
Bail for Godinez is set at $1 million, but police say the manhunt is not over. They are still looking for one more teen suspect.
Police have been searching for nearly two weeks for the remaining suspects. A total of five people have been arrested in connection with the case.
Family members of the victims say they are pleased with the latest arrests.
