Two women died and three women were injured in a crash on Route 3 in Clifton.
The crash on the exit ramp Valley Road snarled Friday morning traffic along the busy highway.
The Record newspaper reports Sgt. Michael Bienkowski said two 21-year-old women from East Orange and Elizabeth died in the crash.
A 20-year-old East Orange woman who was driving and two other female passengers were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No names have been released.
Bienkowski says the driver lost control of her car and it hit a utility pole and rolled over.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
