Authorities say two people were killed in an early morning crash Wednesday on a Monmouth County highway.
A spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office says a commercial line-striping truck overturned into the median from the northbound lanes of the roadway between exits 19 and 22 in Colts Neck.
The three occupants of the truck were ejected from the vehicle. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.
The accident caused delays in both directions on Route 18 near the Routes 34 and 537 interchange. Parts of Route 18 were closed until Wednesday afternoon while the crash was investigated. The roadway has since been reopened.
Anyone with information about the crash is urged to call Detective Eric Kerecman, of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, at 1-800-533-7443 or Sgt. Kristian DeVito, of the Colts Neck Township Police Department, at 732-780-7323.
