It appears one wayward snake was tired of flying and chose to escape into Newark Liberty International Airport Monday.
A spokesperson for the Transportation Security Administration says that a child spotted the 15-inch snake at a checkpoint in Terminal C Monday night. The snake was thin and black and had a yellow band around the back of its neck.
A TSA officer put a checkpoint bin over the snake so that it could be contained. The lane was temporarily closed while a Port Authority police officer was able to secure the snake and take it away.
Passengers were moved over to another lane for a while.
