The owner of a Bergen County car dealership says that three teens, including a 14-year-old boy, were caught on camera stealing cars.
Bergenfield Auto Mall owner Tamir George says that the teens each got into a different car and drove off the lot after they used a rock to smash into the dealership.
The 14-year-old was arrested after he crashed the car he allegedly stole, a Mercedes, in River Edge. George says that the stolen car will cost him $70,000.
George says he thinks the teens were not the masterminds behind the thefts and that there is a bigger threat out there.
“Someone is organizing for them,” he says. “Just using 14-year-old kids for a couple of dollars to pick up cars.”
The 14-year-old was released into the custody of his parents. Bergenfield police are still looking for the other two suspects
