An 11-year-old girl has died after an accident on the water in Toms River.

Police say the Newark girl and two friends were using an inflatable raft in a lagoon off Tobago Avenue Saturday night.

The girl apparently touched a metal boat lift that had become energized.

She was taken to the hospital, where she died.

Authorities say the girls were under adult supervision when the accident happened.
