A gas station attendant says he was robbed Wednesday at gunpoint while working at a rest stop on the Garden State Parkway in Woodbridge.
Faisal Kahn, of Iselin, told News 12 New Jersey his money and phone were stolen at the Colonia South Service Area around 7 a.m. Kahn says he’s physically OK and continued to work after having the gun pointed directly at him.
An employee told News 12 that police took surveillance video of the incident. News 12 is still waiting on confirmation and details of the robbery from state police.
Kahn says he’s worked at the rest stop for a little more than three years. He says the suspect stopped for gas at the Shell gas station and handed him a credit card, but the card didn’t work. He says the suspect and a companion remained at the station for the next 15 to 20 minutes before he was approached.
“The lady was in the car, and she went inside the store and then she came back and got in the car. Then the driver, he came out, put a gun on me,” Kahn recalls. “He took all of my money; he took my phone, and I got in the car and ran away.”
There is no word yet on a description of the suspect or how much money was taken.
