Woodbridge officials held a flag-raising ceremony to commemorate Women’s History Month.

Female officials say that they want to lead by example and empower all women in the town.

"Women have made a huge contribution in all aspects of society. But we make a huge and integral part in Woodbridge Township. We have three councilwomen in our township and we are always very pro-girl, pro-women. We believe in empowering our young women in our township,” says Councilwoman Lizbeth DeJesus.

The councilwoman says that the town plans to hold this event every year, and the hope is that it will only get bigger.
