Severe blood shortages happening throughout the country are impacting blood drives in New Jersey.
The Trinity Episcopal Church in Woodbridge hoped to help remedy that issue by holding a blood drive Sunday.
"One of the things that we really are involved in is trying to be part of the greater community," says Rev. Angela Cipolla. "Being a church isn't just about church on Sunday for us, it's about just being a part of the interconnectedness of the entire community and trying to do outreach to help all of the people in need."
News 12 is told only eight people came out to last year's blood drive held the by church, but so far around 20 people had donated blood Sunday morning alone.
