A New Jersey resident was the only winner of Friday night's $521 million Mega Millions jackpot.
The ticket with the winning numbers – 11, 28, 31, 46, 59 and Mega Ball 1 – was purchased at Lukoil on Route 23 in Riverdale.
The jackpot can either be paid out over a number of years, or a lump sum of $317 million can be taken up front. It's the 10th largest jackpot in lottery history.
Before this winning ticket, no one had matched all six numbers since January. The odds of winning jackpot like this one is a one in 272 million chance.
The staff at Lukoil says they do not know who the lucky buyer is.
"It's exciting to know that one of our customers actually won. Hopefully, it was one of our regulars," said Nancy Levan. "We have a lot of blue collar workers who can really use the money."
Pat Matano of Butler is a former $200,000 jackpot winner. He advises this winner to "do the right thing."
For big prizes, the winner or a representative has to show up at the lottery office in Trenton. The owner of the winning store also gets a cut of the prize.
