Saturday will be a drier day, with breezy winds and mostly sunny skies. Expect the temperatures to feel a little cold, so it may be a shock to the system if you step outside without the proper gear.

Sunday is Groundhog Day, and our weather will be clear and chilly at first before clouds roll in later on. Midday, there is a chance for some flurries. But late in the day, after about 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., rain showers return. With temperatures in the mid-30s, it will be a cold rain falling down. For the groundhog, if it sees its shadow, we get six more weeks of winter. If there is no shadow spotted, spring will be arriving early. Officially though, we are 48 days from the Vernal Equinox and spring being in full swing on Long Island.
