ALERTS:
There is a FREEZE WARNING in effect for the northern sections of NJ as temperatures finally fall below freezing tonight and tomorrow morning.
FORECAST:
Rain showers pass through NJ this morning as a swirl of cold air to the west slowly moves toward New Jersey for tomorrow.
Rain showers wrap up near noon and then temperatures start to drop into the afternoon and evening. The afternoon won't have a "high temperature" as usual. The high temperature of the day will occur in the morning under the rain showers.
Winds pick up tonight from the west-northwest at 15-25 mph. Tomorrow's gusts will reach near 30-35 mph.
Windswept clouds capable of producing flurries will pass through New Jersey for the midday, especially in the northern zones such as Sussex, northern Morris, Passaic, and Bergen counties. If we're lucky, they may make it down to Union County, too! There is no accumulation expected. Most of the flurries will evaporate before reaching the ground - but cool to see, nevertheless.
Temperatures this week will be cooler than the last week with highs in the 40s/50s. The sky will be pleasant with sun and clouds.
There is no big opportunity for rain in the next several days.
