The United States is looking into a conspiracy theory that the coronavirus started in a lab in China, and the idea is either someone got infected there or the virus got out by accident.
According to multiple sources, the theory is just one of many possibilities investigators are considering.
The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff says U.S. investigators are taking a look at all of the scenarios.
Authorities caution against drawing any conclusions prematurely.
China has said all along the virus came from a market in Wuhan.
