Officials: Wharton State Forest fire 95% contained, 1,700 acres impacted

Fire crews have nearly contained a wildfire located inside Wharton State Forest in Camden County.
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service says that the fire near Jackson Road and the Atco Dragway is 95% contained. This fire has impacted 1,700 acres of land.
Jackson Road will remain closed until further notice.
“Upon the eventual reopening of Jackson Road, we ask that motorists watch for firefighters and fire vehicles that may be working on the roadsides,” officials wrote on Twitter.
Officials say that smoke may be visible for an extended period of time “while firefighters work to mop up the wildfire.” Drivers should use caution in the area.
No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
