The East Coast is breathing a sigh of relief as Hurricane Joaquin tracks far east of the seaboard, but parts of New Jersey are still dealing with the effects of a separate coastal storm.

Strong winds and cold rain have battered the area since Friday. Flooding has been reported in low-lying coastal areas. A coastal flood advisory remains in effect for times of high tides today.

The rain has tapered off, but the wind and cloudy skies will remain in place. Temperatures will be in the mid- to low-50s today.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the low 60s. Monday will be partly sunny and breezy with highs in the mid-60s.

Hurricane Joaquin, meanwhile, caused some damage in the Bahamas before heading out east to sea. Roofs were damaged and trees were uprooted, and a cargo ship remains unaccounted for. The Coast Guard is searching for the ship, which had 33 crew members aboard, including 28 Americans.
