It was a dreary and wet Wednesday across New Jersey, as periods of heavy rain drenched the state.
Temperatures reached the low-60s by Wednesday afternoon.
News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that the rain is expected to last until about 8 a.m. Thursday. Curren says the rain is mostly being driven by the wind, and wind gusts could reach up to 15 mph in some areas.
There is also a chance of tidal flooding during high tide on Wednesday because of northeasterly and easterly winds. The winds could also cause leaves and other debris to fall into roadways, creating a flooding hazard. Power outages are also a concern.
Thursday should warm up and start to clear by the late morning. Temperatures are expected to reach the low- to mid-70s with mostly sunny skies.
Friday and Saturday are expected to see mostly sunny skies but temperatures will cool. Friday is expected to see a high temperature of 60 degrees.
Halloween Saturday should see a high temperature of 56 degrees. Temperatures may cool into the high-40s by the time trick-or-treating is over.
