Gov. Phil Murphy says indoor dining can resume July 2, and operate at 25% capacity. On the same day, Atlantic City’s casinos, as well as the state’s various race tracks, will also be able to reopen at 25% capacity.
The city’s nine casinos have been waiting for a reopening date for weeks, even as casinos in other states reopened.

Many of the casinos have been planning on their own for a reopening, and have adopted measures including increased hand sanitizers and social distancing to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Monmouth Park President Dennis Drazin says he’s excited to welcome back fans, but safety is the priority.
“Although we have a huge facility, we’re probably going to have to look at our different spaces and I’m sure when we look at outside spots and see social distancing, if one spot has 100 people, well that will be 25 people social distancing,” says Drazin.
Face coverings and health screenings will be required for people to make bets, as well as employees.
The governor says to expect more guidance for casinos, racetracks, and indoor dining in the next few days.
The Borgata in Atlantic City announced today unless you get a special invitation, you won't be able to get inside its casino until July 6. The casino will host invitation-only days starting July 2, intended as a trial run to see how new procedures designed to cope with the coronavirus outbreak are working.
The governor also announced indoor gatherings are now limited to 25% capacity, and can't exceed 100 people. Outdoor gatherings can grow from 100 to 250 people.
