Breakwater Beach Water Park in Seaside Heights is ensuring safety during the pandemic as visitors look to cool off from extreme summer temperatures.
The water park is following COVID-19 guidelines. Masks are required upon entry, while waiting in line at the concession stand and restrooms.
The park capacity is limited to 50%, and the rides and chairs go through extensive daily cleanings.
A water park may also serve as an alternative to the beaches which are following limited capacity protocols.
The beaches in Seaside Heights closed Sunday by 2:30 p.m. due to social distancing guidelines, but the water park remained open. Also, crowds have been arriving throughout day Monday, but the park has yet to reach capacity.
"In under a normal summer, I feel like we'd be pack every single day, that's for sure, 'cause it's been hot, even in June, where June is usually rainy or cooler. But it's been a hot, hot summer, so we're definitely happy that people are coming over to the water park. And we're staying safe, and we're cleaning everything and people have been saying great things about us, and that's what we appreciate," says Breakwater Beach marketing director Maria Saltzman.
