A water main break along Route 37 in Toms River slowed Wednesday evening traffic and may impact the Thursday morning commute.

Construction crews were digging up and patching Whittier Avenue through the night to reopen by the stated 7 a.m. goal.
One eastbound lane remained open.
It happened in a busy section of Toms River along the way to Seaside Heights.
The Toms River Diner was among those affected by the outage.
