A water main break reported early Tuesday morning brought crews to a residential neighborhood in Elizabeth before sunrise.

The break happened just before 4 a.m. near Hampton Place and Jefferson Avenue.

Repair crews arriving at the scene began assessing the damage and starting work.

Officials have not yet said how many customers may be affected or how long repairs could take.

City officials have been contacted for additional information.
