A water main break created a traffic jam in Hackensack Saturday afternoon.
Water flooded at Moore and Mercer streets, causing the roads to be shut down as crews attended to the leaking pipe.
Officials say it appeared the water seeped into the ground, causing the street to sink and the telephone poles to become unstable.
Crews have not yet determined what caused the leak.
