A New York Waterway Ferry captain and his crew rescued a man Friday from the Hudson River.
Officials said that around 8:30 a.m., the crew saw the man jump from a seawall near Battery Park City.
“’Help me.’ That's all he said first time and that was it. He grabbed by the cradle, and we pulled him up,” New York Waterway deckhand Pietro Romano said.
The crew pulled the man aboard and handed home over to New York police and an Emergency Medical Service ambulance. There was no immediate word on the man’s name or his condition.
Hoboken resident Jonathan Otto captured the rescue on video and shared it with News 12 New Jersey.
The water rescue wasn’t the first for Cpt. David Dort and deckhand Gregoriao Pages. Just last year, they pulled off a similar rescue.
