Business owners on the Jersey Shore are hopeful that Sunday's dry weather will bring customers back to their stores.

They say traffic has been slow this weekend because of the intermittent rain brought by the leftovers of Hurricane Laura.

Shops and restaurants have already been hurt this summer because of coronavirus restrictions.

One shop owner says most of his business comes from diners stopping by for dessert, but people staying home because of rainy weather hurts business.

"We are open rain or shine so it's tough on a rainy day," says Mike Langsner of Haven's Sweet Shop. "People are not going out for ice cream. We are not outdoor dining, we rely a lot on outdoor diners."

Business owners say they are optimistic that the warm weather predicted for Sunday will bring customers back in.
