A wallaby that hopped out of his habitat and escaped from the Cape May County Zoo Tuesday has be found.

The Cape May County Sheriff’s Office said officers, along with personnel from the Cape May County Park/Zoo and local police, were searching for the bouncing escape artist. Crews were focusing their search in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township. Within a few hours of the escape, the wallaby was found and is on its way back to the zoo, the Sheriff’s Office said.

While the search was ongoing, officials warned people to avoid contact with the wallaby and call 911.

It is still unknown how the Wallaby escaped or where it was eventually located.
