The Chatham community came together to say a final goodbye to a beloved priest who was stabbed to death last week.
The wake for Father Edward Hinds was held at St. Patrick Church Friday morning where Hinds served as pastor for the past six years. A large crowd of mourners gathered to honor his life and service.
The church's 64-year-old janitor, Jose Feliciano, was charged with the murder. It was revealed in court Thursday that Feliciano had an outstanding warrant for indecent assault and corruption of a minor, along with many aliases.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday.
