A 16-year-old boy and his mother are facing criminal charges after authorities executed a search warrant at a local residence, recovering a stolen dirt bike linked to a string of police pursuits.

The raid took place on Thursday, at a home in the 1500 block of North Orchard Road. The operation was conducted by the Vineland Police Department and Cumberland County Tactical Response Team following an extensive investigation.

During the search, investigators recovered a 2021 Kawasaki dirt bike that had previously been reported stolen. Police also uncovered additional evidence linking the dirt bike to multiple eluding incidents that have plagued the City of Vineland over the past several months.

Authorities identified the operator of the dirt bike as a 16-year-old boy. He was arrested and hit with multiple charges, including eluding police, stolen property and vehicle violations.

The teenager’s mother, 35-year-old Adriana Torres of Vineland, was also arrested and charged in connection with the investigation. Torres faces charges including endangering the welfare of a child and stolen property.

Both defendants were processed and released on summonses pending a future court appearance in Cumberland County Superior Court in Bridgeton.

Vineland police officials emphasized that this bust is part of a larger, ongoing effort to crack down on the illegal operation of dirt bikes, ATVs, and off-road vehicles on public streets.

"These riders continue to pose a significant threat to the safety and quality of life of our residents," the department said in a statement.

Authorities credited local residents with playing a vital role in the bust, thanking the community for consistently providing tips that helped investigators track down the suspects.
