A Vineland police officer has been charged with improperly accessing computer records through law enforcement systems, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.
Timothy Ball, 34, of Vineland, was charged Tuesday with four counts of computer criminal activity following an investigation by the prosecutor's office Professional Standards Unit.
Prosecutors say Ball used an in-house Vineland Police Department computer system and the Criminal Justice Information System, or CJIS, without authorization or beyond his authorized access to research information about three people on multiple dates between March 2025 and February 2026.
The alleged conduct was initially discovered during an internal investigation by the Vineland Police Department, which referred the matter to the prosecutor's office for further investigation.
Ball is scheduled to appear for Central Judicial Processing on Sept. 10.
