Loved ones of four young men killed in a crash on the Garden State Parkway early Wednesday morning will hold a vigil Sunday in their memory.
The victims were identified as 21-year-old Kevin Quispe-Prieto, of Beachwood, Jimmy Quispe-Prieto and Robert Ordenana, both 23, and 24-year-old Victor Lugo, all of Lakewood.
Friends say that Robert Ordenana served as a rifleman in the United States Marine Corps for nearly four years.
Sunday’s vigil was organized by Brenden Downey, a close friend of victim Victor Lugo. Downey tells News 12 New Jersey that Lugo was an amazing athlete and an amazing uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Authorities say that Kevin Quispe-Prieto was driving an Infiniti early Wednesday morning when he slammed into the back of a tanker truck, pinning the car underneath. The crash happened near Exit 81 in Toms River. All four men died at the scene.
The four friends were seen smiling and having a good time earlier in the evening in Snapchat videos.
The vigil will take place Sunday at 1 p.m. at the John Patrick Sports Complex in Lakewood.
