An alleged road rage incident Thursday night left a man with a fractured wrist, bruises and cuts that required stitches.
Lou Sorrentino says a car of three teens screamed obscenities at him and his friend during a stop at a red light near the intersection of Edken Boulevard and Hooper Avenue. "They got back behind me, they were giving me the brights," Sorrentino says.
That's when Sorrentino says he reached a breaking point, and got out of his car to confront the teenagers.
"[They] stopped backing up as soon as I got out. They pegged the gas doing 30 to 35 miles per hour," he says. Sorrentino claims he rolled over the top of the car and landed in bushes near the road.
"I'm sure I could've been killed," Sorrentino says. "I think if I was a little bit lighter, a little bit smaller that it would've been a lot worse."
Police have charged 18-year-old Christian Cambert, of Toms River, with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report. Police say more charges could follow. Cambert couldn't be reached for comment.
