Bitterly cold temperatures didn't stop people from coming out Saturday in Hoboken to honor our nation's heroes this Veterans Day.
People gathered for a ceremony at Elysian Park to honor those have fought and continue to fight for freedoms.
A memorial was erected at the park in honor of local veterans, and a wreath was laid at the site Saturday.
Veterans in the American Legion Post 107 organized Saturday's event and say they have plans to do more to support vets.
"We're knocking down our building and building six apartments for homeless veterans," says Vincent Wassman. "No veteran should be homeless in this country and in New Jersey we have 4,000."
