A stretch of Bloomfield Avenue in Verona has reopened after several manholes exploded Tuesday afternoon, leaving the road damaged.
The incident happened at around 5:30 p.m. near Bloomfield Avenue and Sunset Avenue.
Bloomfield Avenue was closed from Pompton Avenue through Valley Road in Montclair while utility crews made emergency repairs.
The closure caused miles of traffic backup during the evening commute.
