(AP) - A judge has ordered an Afghanistan-born Coloradoman who allegedly received al-Qaida training and had bomb-makinginstructions on his computer to be held pending a detention hearingThursday.

Investigators say Najibullah Zazi, a 24-year-old airport shuttledriver, played a direct role in an alleged terror plot thatunraveled during a trip to New York City around the anniversary ofthe Sept. 11 attacks. He has been charged with lying to thegovernment in a matter involving terrorism.

Zazi's father also appeared in court Monday and was expected tobe released within 48 hours. An associate, Ahmad Wais Afzali,appeared in federal court in Brooklyn and was being held withoutbond.

All face the same charge.
