University of Bridgeport basketball coach reaches 400 wins

The University of Bridgeport Purple Knights won four of their last five games and their most recent win over American International meant a little bit more for head coach Mike Roo.
Coach Roo earned his 400th career win on the UB bench last week, pushing his all-time record at the school to 400-216 over 21 seasons.
According to the record books, Roo is now one of just 40 active coaches in all of Division 2 to have 400 career victories.
What's really cool about this story -- UB didn't even have a season last year because of the pandemic. And now it seems the Purple Knights are playing their best basketball.
As for coach Roo, he said No. 400 came one win at a time.
"Winning is kinda like good health, you don't appreciate it till you lose it. It's been up and down years with the COVID and with Goodwin coming in and buying UB, and just to have this moment, I feel blessed and honored. Always the players, the coaches don't win the games, at the end of the day, players have to play as a team to win these games. 400 is terrific and I'd love to get another 400 here at UB."
