United Airlines will require earlier airport check-in beginning June 3.
Starting next week, with or without checked bags, those flying United will be required to check in at least 45 minutes before departure.
Previously they could arrive 30 minutes before departure.
If it’s an international flight, you must check-in at least 60 minutes before departure.
In most cases passengers can start checking-in online 24 hours prior to departure but again, now, United wants passengers physically at the airport earlier than before.
United says that for those that don't meet the check-in time limits, it will do its best to find another option. The airline adds that it has the right to deny service which may result in cancellation of reservations, denied boarding or the option to check bags.
United released a statement saying, "Starting June 3, our check-in cutoff time for domestic flights will change to 45 minutes before departure. The change brings greater consistency for our customers by aligning with our current checked baggage deadline and the check-in policies followed by most other airlines. Customers can review domestic and international airport check-in time limits here and use our lobby kiosks for self-service as needed."
