A section of Bruckner Boulevard was closed off on Sunday after two cars went up in flames.

Firefighters received the call about two cars on fire at 12:17pm.

Video shared by a viewer showed thick smoke billowing from the cars, as they were engulfed in flames.

There were no reported injuries.

An eyewitness told News 12 the fire was a result of the two cars crashing into each other.

While tow trucks worked to remove what was left of the charred vehicles, part of Bruckner Boulevard was closed off.

The closure rerouted traffic down Faile Street and forced long waits for drivers.

Some drivers told News 12 they were stuck in traffic for an hour, while others said it was not surprising, and long waits are part of their daily commutes.

Firefighters were still working to determine what caused the fire.
